because all the lectures of VU require real player!
moreover is it possible for VU lectures to be played in windows media player?

Hi dexter811,
I am sorry for replying you so late. Actually I was waiting for my set of VU DVD to arrive so that I can look up their types myself.

Well, VU lectures are in Windows Media Video (wmv) format.
There are plenty of players, free and propriety both, available that support wmv format with playback speed option.

There is no reason that those lectures will only play in Real Player.

I also discussed your problem with three VU students.
They told me VU lectures have always been in wmv format.
When I told them that the lectures aren't working in any player other than Real Player, they said they haven't experienced this problem ever, neither heard of it from fellow students.

My guess is that you need to review your file association with their software.

Once again I apologise for so late reply, though it was for a reason. I sincerely hope that your problem is already solved.

Regards.

my problem is very simple ... i want to increase the play back speed of real player. the lectures donot run in media player and even any other player !!

Real Player doesn't support variable playback speed option natively.

But there is a plug-in available from Enounce at this link.
Unfortunately, it isn't free though they offer 7 days free trial.

Hope my late reply wasn't useful because your problem is already solved. :-)
If you have any other query, please feel free to ask.

Dear Thomas Anderson after your kind suggestion on listening. I have been doing practice on that activity for last week and from apart of this i am listening BBC News, radio, English documentaries and English movies. But I rarely comprehend these all. Would you please mind suggesting me some reliable source of listening or some websites where i can practice all. I am  sure this technique really works. But i need proper guideline for this.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks.

Thanks Shaan e imran for taking interest in the posted tip.
We will try our best to help you.
But please clear a point before we proceed to further elaboration and experience sharing.

Do you have problem in comprehension while listening at normal speed too, or only at high speeds?
If its the high playback speed which is causing you trouble, what speed you have opted for?

How many playback speeds your player supports?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Dear Thomas Anderson I heartily apologise for this, that I had no attention towards this reply of yours Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

As I diverted my mind towards some tests of mine and the selection of my subjects. I was totally disconnected from the Audio learning,,

And have no idea how this happened to me, how this reply was missed by my eyes Sad

But to error is human. Well the problem with me was/is that I just want to know that any audio material which we download can be played in low speed via the different Players.

But is it possible to listen the live news in normal speed Huh Is there any player which controls the speed of live news Huh
